This week on the sofa we welcome Lars Fischer – architect, researcher, and cofounder of ‘common room’, a Brussels – New York collective working between architecture, publishing, and exhibition making.
Through his practice and teaching at KU Leuven, Lars explores architecture as a form of mediation: between ecology and the built environment, energy systems and everyday life, the political and the spatial. His work asks how buildings and infrastructures can shape and be shaped by social, environmental, and cultural forces.
From research into energy and architecture, to posing contemporary ecological questions, his projects weave together theory, practice, and critical enquiry. A way of working where architecture becomes less about objects, and more about relationships, negotiations, and the systems that support life.
Join us on the sofa for a conversation on ecological thinking, mediating tactics, and reimagining the role of architecture today!
