The Sofa Talks are *back*
Our first guest back on the sofa will be ’Stories of a Street’ – a collaborative effort of Leyla Hepsaydir and Rebekka Schächer. The two developed an interdisciplinary method of situated architectural research, proposing an alternative role for the architect as a listener and a carer. By collecting, drawing and sharing stories, they co-create unconventional graphic archives of overlooked narratives. During the Sofa Talks, we’ll discuss their project in Nieuwe Binnenweg, Rotterdam, and its risk of gentrification, their incorporation of community engagement, graphic story-telling, and their interest in female-coded work, such as stitching, tapestry-making and quilting.
