Een straatbeeld wordt overheerst door hoog opgetrokken gevels die onaangetast zijn door de tand des tijds, geplaatst om datgene wat als “minder mooi” wordt beschouwd, te maskeren. Maar over de ongeplande momentopnames, zoals barstformaties en het schaduwspel van installaties, hebben ze geen controle en dringen er dus toch doorheen. Hierdoor ontstaat een visueel patchwork van verschillende materialen, texturen en ideeën over de ruimtelijke omgeving.
In mijn schaalvrije onderzoek, schaalvrij omdat het een alternatief vormt voor de realiteit, benadruk ik deze ongeplande momenten en zoek ik naar een manier om er ontwerpend mee om te gaan.

A cityscape is dominated by towering facades untouched by the ravages of time, erected to conceal what is considered “less beautiful.” However, they have no control over unplanned snapshots, such as crack formations and the interplay of shadows from installations, and these elements still manage to permeate. This results in a visual patchwork of various materials, textures, and ideas about the spatial environment.
In my scale-free investigation, scale-free because it serves as an alternative to reality, I emphasize these unplanned moments and seek a design-oriented approach to deal with them.
