AFTER ABSENCE – the urban factory today
Studio S.E.C., is hosting a summerschool in August and September 2016.
The summerschool is held at the KU Leuven, Faculty of Architecture, campus Sint-Lucas Gent (Sint-Niklaasstraat) in September.
An introduction session in June and a study trip to New York in August are part of the programme.
The aim is to design a ‘factory of today’, on a specific site with a specific client in mind.
Production processes and logistics will be analysed, in realtion to architecture, urban design and public space.
The studio visits factories and industrial districts in NYC and Ghent along with other significant architectural projects.
Hybrid factories, including housing, are part of the design.
