* Solidary Mobile Housing offers a modular housing system enabling homeless to co-create mobile dwellings on temporarily available sites. The SMH Model includes methods for guidance and co-creation, self-construction and self-management. In this way the Model aims at providing a novel form of social housing. The potential clients are citizen collectives, social organizations and social housing services and developers.
SMH has been developed by a group of eight future inhabitants, working together with community workers and social workers of the NGO’s Samenlevingsopbouw and Centrum voor Algemeen Welzijnswerk (CAW), students, teachers and researchers of the Faculty of Architecture and several professionals from the BCR (like BC architects & studies, Casa Blanco, Atelier Groot Eiland and Sociale Innovatie Fabriek).
