David Van Oostende ‘Interzone’

Interzone is a personal interpretation of an aesthetic interstice. Not a movement, or a happening, nor a by-product of urban planning: just a virtual in-between of spaces.

Combining open source point clouds and photogrammetry models, I took influence from projects such as Current.cam and Andrei Tarkovski’s ‘Stalker’, to create my own aesthetic interstice. A hybrid of void and real, urban and non-urban, it’s a place that defies space and time. Where echo’s of past and new human life rest for a while. ‘Interzone’ manifests a digital world to escape into.

This escape represents the contemporary mood of digitalisation, isolation, exploration. It questions our ever expanding reality
