Fatiha Tadjadit ‘Fenestra Aperta, a window to the outside’

The Finestra Aperta project attempts to navigate and reveal to an audience the understandings of a new landscape through showing our crooked and anxious world by way of the disconnection and agitation of our realm.

This project wants to be a public viewing machine for educating different views to people. Because a reality isn’t solely examined from a human perspective. The Finestra Aperta shows us, life through a non-anthropocentric point of view that generates a realization beyond ourselves. The beholder stops being a reference point and starts observing the machine’s limitless spatial viewings to the subjected sightings. It’s supposed to be a place to exchange different points of views and discourses on matter beyond this realm of the world. To re-determine our own selves. But also to open a whole understanding around natural space and our relation to it. A way to reflect on our current rampant perspectives on the world. The machine has been chosen as a space that is open, to allow the prolongation of sounds. Sound is another element that is present, in the experimental space of the window, it helps with experiencing the qualities of space and can help imagine different atmospheres. The machine works as a collecting, recording, mapping and measuring device with the capacity to turn the observer into an actor. The machine gives to the observer an absolute freedom of visuals with no boundaries.

This whole new mode of beholding, that will change our perceptions and imagination. We’re constantly getting removed by spreaded and disturbed images. But what if the Finestra Aperta, exposes a different way of looking? Without any predisposition but acceptance. This could help divulge a different visual aspect of our realm. And so on, act upon realizations of the world around us.

The Finestra Aperta, is a manifestation between the beholders in order to conciliate with nature.
