Within the Doors of Perception: Can a Detail Save the World? studio, Anna Schöfberger’s trajectory unfolds between two contexts and scales of inquiry. Her work begins with the study of the refurbishment of a high-rise student housing block in Munich, where questions of reuse and adaptation foreground the potential of detail as an instrument of care.
From there, her project shifts to a social high-rise in Ghent, where the detail becomes not only a technical device but also a means to renegotiate space and form. Through precise attention to material articulation and lived experience, Anna explores how the smallest interventions can recalibrate the larger social and spatial dynamics of collective housing.
Her work demonstrates that details are never minor — they are carriers of meaning, tools of negotiation, and seeds for transformation.
