Since 1997, ALT architectuur, founded by Thierry Lagrange, has created layered architecture rooted in a deep understanding of context. Each project responds uniquely to its environment, history, function, client, and budget, shaping a distinct architectural language. This contextual approach forms the basis of a holistic and sustainable design philosophy, in which sustainability emerges naturally through functionality, energy efficiency, materiality, light, and construction methods. Emphasizing buildability and robust design, ALT architectuur delivers dynamic architecture for conscious living. Operating as a compact and efficient studio, Thierry Lagrange closely connects architectural practice with research. Over the years, this has taken shape in diverse ways: photography as an instrument for reflection, detail as a medium for abstraction, and care as a guiding principle in decision-making.
