The first international STE*M Conference (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) was hosted by the Faculty of Education at Stellenbosch University in collaboration with KU Leuven, as part of the Teacher Education Network, from 11–13 September 2024. The conference highlighted keynotes by leading experts including Dr. Ir. Hanne Deprez and Dr. Arch. Robin Schaeverbeke from KU Leuven, Prof. Eugene Cloete from Stellenbosch University, and Prof. Gerrit Stols from the University of Pretoria. The book with proceedings (edited by Marie-Louise Botha, Hanne Deprez, Oliver Holz and Robin Schaeverbeke) explores how STEM education can foster creativity, inclusion, and critical thinking, in a world shaped by innovation and technology. With perspectives from Belgium, Botswana, Germany, Namibia, South Africa, and the UN, the book offers powerful insights from research and classroom practice.
