Vilnius Art Academy (Malūnu St. 5, Vilnius)
Speakers: Breg Horemans (KU Leuven & TAAT arts collective) & Goda Verikaite (TAAT arts collective)
Designers are often trained to develop a project from conception to execution in a linear, forward-looking manner. Since the global pandemic the practice of TAAT arts collective is slowly shifting from an A-to-B attitude towards an eco-dramaturgical approach (cyclical, seasonal, ecological). This approach aims to consider raw materials, extracted from natural environments, as ‘more-than-human’ entities with whom we can collaborate. The aim of the presentation to share gestures of making that are sensitive and responsive, in order to shift our ways of thinking-doing-being (Escobar, 2018) in spatial design. Breg Horemans is architect and PhD researcher at the Department of Architecture of KU Leuven, Campus Ghent. Goda Verikaite is architect/designer and researcher. They ar both part of TAAT collective (www.taat.live).
