Workshop / Venice Gatherings 2023. ‘Learning from real conflict and post-conflict situations’

On September 6-8, 2023, the Faculty of Architecture (KU Leuven), the Archis Foundation (Amsterdam) and KU Leuven Alumni Chapter Italy organize a three day workshop ‘Learning from real conflict and post-conflict situations’ in Venice with a special focus on rebuilding Ukraine. In order to make plans and proposals, politicians, architects and urbanists are in need of good examples from other countries. Whilst every conflict is different, there are things we can learn and share from previous experience, from regulatory tools and data collection to political, environmental and spatial strategies, and simple do’s and don’ts. This workshop is focused on exchanging knowledge, experiences and expertise. Everyone with expertise or interest in this field is cordially invited to participate!

The workshop is an excellent opportunity to (re)-connect and to network.

There is possibility to register for seperate days. The program and the practical information: click here.

Worthwhile to mention that the Venice Biennale Architettura will take place at the same time as our event – another exceptional reason to join us in Venice!

Participation in this event is free. Travel, accommodation and meals at own expense.

If you want to join us: please register for the workshop before August 31, 2023.

Please register here.

Looking forward to seeing you in Venice!
