Summer school SENSE, ADAPT, CREATE: lectures by Dries De Poorter, Stefan Van der Spek & Hans Hoogenboom, David Novack (5-15/09)

Summer School SENSE ADAPT CREATE
Exploring environmental sensing, data-driven design, mapping and visualization
Team: KU Leuven, LUCA School of Arts, Lund University, OTH Regensburg

At the end of this summer (September 5-15th, 2022) an interdisciplinary summer school takes place in Ghent. Students from Engineering, Architecture, and Arts, will enhance their skill set by collaborating on a joint and multidisciplinary project. Within this project, hidden layers of the environment are explored through technology, allowing us to sense its invisible aspects. We will work with sensors and various other technologies to scan environments. The gathered data will be processed in a creative manner to establish a narrative via time-based media and animation. Today’s increasingly connected and complex world, requires attitudes, entrepreneurial skills, and knowledge that transcend individual disciplines. This Summer School will provide an interdisciplinary platform for students to acquire the necessary skills by adapting STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) principles.

During the summer school three lectures will take place in Castle Ter Beken. Everyone is welcome to join, free of charge. Registration is mandatory.
