CROSS-READING OF 20 STUDENT PROJECTS 2020-21 ON BRUSSELS

A conversation with Elien Vanhamel (student – tbc), Yves Schoonjans (dean), Tania Vandenbroucke and Jerôme Kockerols (team bMa) and Roeland Dudal (tutor).

DEAR MAYORS, LET’S GO FOR A WALK.

An informal conversation that brings together work from the different studios into dialogue with each other in a refreshing way. Starting from selected work from students that consider Brussels’ reality as a canvas and the cosmopolitan society as a dynamic field of forces, within which architecture tries to contribute to the societal challenges we are facing. Secondly, we want to find out how the educational practice can make a meaningful contribution to the public debate on city and society, and how bringing in actors from outside the school into the playing field of architectural education contributes to the practice development.

Selected student work by: Mathilde Brogniet, Jérôme Cauwels, Madeleine Debaere, Wannes Deyaert, Miguel Dominguez, Camellia Fraiture, Mohammad Ghotbi, Hannah Gordts, Julien Jacob, Suzanne Jadoul, Jorg Leemans, Moujan Mahdian, Quinten Malfait, Dylan Nas, Sam Pauwels, Ward Peetermans, Fleur Peeters, Mantas Povilaika, Isinsu Tazici, Marlene Teimel, Guillaume Van de Kerkhof, Elien Vanhamel, Jonathan Vanhove, Ine Verhoeven.
