Masterstudenten van de opleiding Stedenbouw en Ruimtelijke Planning van de Faculteit Architectuur namen van 5 tot 9 November 2018 deel aan een workshop over de toekomst van Stadsregio Turnhout. Een 7-tal groepen gaf zijn visie, waarbij vooral de thema’s mobiliteit en klimaat primeerden (afbouwen ring, autovrij stadscentrum, hoogwaardig openbaar vervoer, zelfrijdende voertuigen, klimaatfort, omvorming tot klimaatzones, …)
“Het is boeiend om de confrontatie met deze studenten, die Turnhout niet kenden, aan te gaan”, zegt stadsurbanist Cedric Heerman. “Zij zien oplossingen die wij niet zouden zien.”
