You do not need to know anything about model making. This course is for beginners or veteran model makers alike.
Ambition:
During this studio one will learn how to make a sensitive representation of ones ideas to execute and visualise your design visions. Knowledge on materials, colours and observation will be gained in order to explore ones imagination. Models and drawings are the most important and unfiltered tool of an Architect, and the making process is fluid, constantly evolving and sophisticated.
Site:
We will focus on a the former distillery Claes, a listed heritage site, located in the outskirts of Hasselt, in the east of Belgium. The distillery was made on the spot with field ovens and extended during production. After its abandonment for many years, two brothers, two painters, acquired the old distillery 20 years ago. Meticulously renovating step by step themselves. From ruin to a guesthouse, two family homes and two painter studios. One part remains still untouched and is left in its raw state together with the chimney, to be discovered.
