The masterstudio and Academic Design Office Homes for Brussels / Homes for Flanders presents a lecture by Cathelijne Nuijsink.
Cathelijne Nuijsink is a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoc Fellow at the Institute for History and Theory (gta) at ETH Zürich. She was trained as an architect in Delft and Tokyo and she completed her PhD in East Asian Languages & Civilizations at the University of Pennsylvania, USA (2017) investigating the recent history of the single-family house in Japan as a product of intense theoretical examination and architectural experimentation.
She is the author of the book ‘ How to Make a Japanese House’ (Nai Publisher, 2015) and the editor of the architecture concept series ‘Architecture Monogram’. She is currently working on a research monograph entitled ‘Archive Japan: Constructing an Oral History of Contemporary Architecture Theory, 2007-2017’ [Jap Sam Books, forthcoming].
