in between city, looking for social condension: het stadgebouw

De stedelijke context vraagt naar gebouwen of clusters
dewelke sociale cohesie bevorderen,
fysieke en mentale gezondheid integreren,
kwaliteitsvol leven faciliteren.
In deze studio trachten we een antwoord te bieden op de maatschappelijke noden
creëren we een ruimtelijke context voor toeval, ontmoeting, dialoog en gemeenschapsvorming
we geven zuurstof aan het stadsleven.
Een stadsgebouw gaat op zoek naar een kader, een structuur
voor een functioneel, ruimtelijk en praktische efficiëntie.
Hoe kunnen we de veranderende maatschappelijke noden huisvesten in de juiste infrastructuur?
Hoe kunnen we niet enkel de maatschappelijke impact van dienstverlening versterken
en ook het gebruik van tijd, ruimte, financiële middelen, grondstoffen en energie slim en duurzaam organiseren? Hoe kunnen stadsgebouwen zich openstellen naar & voor stedelingen
en inspelen op maatschappelijke behoeften en daaraan verbonden ruimtelijke noden en/of ongelijkheden?
Stadsgebouw wordt buurt(gebouw):
een gebouw dat verschillende functies vervult,
een grootschalige structuur die complexe functies in systemen organiseert,
die zowel publieke als private diensten huisvest – een inclusief gebouw,
een dynamische stedelijke ruimte voor publieke interactie,
een levend, aanpasbaar organisme.
Om te voorzien in sociale behoeften,
om collectiviteit te creëren,
om inclusiviteit te creëren – een derde plek,
mèt sociale impact.
Op maat van zijn omgeving – van een voldoende grote schaal.
Doorwaadbaar
poreus,
ook in de gevel.
Beter geen eiland
zeker wel een motor,
als een inclusieve enclave.
Hoe kunnen we de stad comprimeren tot een gebouw
zonder context noch verbinding te verliezen!
Deliverables:
Op zoek naar stedelijke strategieën,
een oefening in dichtheid.
Een organigram in plattegronden en doorsneden
een structuur,
een maquette,
ingepast èn op zichzelf staande.
An urban context demands buildings or clusters
that promote social cohesion,
integrate physical and mental health,
facilitate quality of life.
In this studio we strive to respond to social needs,
we create a spatial context for chance, encounters, dialogue, and community building,
we provide oxygen for the city life.
A stadsgebouw searches for a framework
with a functional, spatial and practical efficiency.
How can we accommodate changing societal needs within the right infrastructure?
How can we not only strengthen the social impact of public services but also organize
the use of time, space, financial resources, raw materials, and energy in a smart and sustainable way?
How can urban buildings open up to and for city dwellers
and respond to diverse societal and related spatial needs and inequalities?
Stadsgebouw becomes neigborhood.
A building that serves different functions,
a large-scale structure that organizes complex functions into distinct systems,
accommodating both public and private services – an inclusive building,
a dynamic urban space for public interaction,
a living, adaptable organism.
To meet social needs,
to create collectivity,
to create inclusivity – the third place,
with social impact
Sized in its environment – with a sufficiently large scale.
Fordable
porous,
also in the facade.
Better not an island
certainly a motor,
as an inclusive enclave.
How can we compress the city into a building
without losing context and connection!
Deliverables:
Looking for urban strategies,
an exercise in density.
An organigram in plans and sections
a structure,
a model,
fitted in as well as stand-alone.
