Walking with echoes
Does a city truly have its own unique sound? Its echoes whisper through its space— Can you hear it? Can you understand it?
As I wandered through Charleroi, I listened to its voice.
I heard whispers rising from the cracks of industrial ruins, slowly emerging through the breath of nature that envelops them.
I heard murmurs from the still waters of the canal, quietly dissipating through the alleys of the neighborhood.
Sound exists in every tangible reality, bridging past and present.
With the camera, I took a walk.
Recorded while walking, forming my memory video of Charleroi.
I gathered fragments of these sounds and transformed them into visible forms.
Within these interweaving lines, I sought to compose a sound map for Charleroi.
Focusing on each fragment of sound, I construct these sound spaces.
In these visuals, sound connected through noticed essence.
It is a silent dialogue between the city and its people.
