The KU Leuven Master’s Thesis Award Brussels was presented this year to alumna Fatimazahra Hamoutahar for her thesis ‘Les Grands Travaux – A Temporary District within a City in Construction‘ (supervised by Livia de Behtune). This prize annually recognizes the best master’s thesis on a topic related to Brussels.
In her thesis, Fatimazahra examines one of Brussels’ largest and most important construction projects of the past few decades: Metro Line 3, and the inevitable, yet undiscussed, urban disruption caused by prolonged construction work.
