Tim Vekemans is architect and co-founder of RE-ST, an architecture and research practice specialized in tackling urgent and complex spatial challenges. Recent building projects by RE-ST are Design Museum Ghent, The research of RE-ST focusses on different uses of the existing building stock, such as the study for the redevelopment of religious heritage and the research on wanderspace. RE-ST is author of the ‘Plea for Non-Building’ and other public statements on architecture and urban production. We will talk with Tim Vekemans about the hybrid practice of RE-ST, how non-building looks like and why we need architects anyway.
