International summer school \u2013 September 10th to 18th, 2018<\/em><\/p>\n

Organised by Drs. Arch. Hannes Van Damme<\/a> and hosted in the NYhub<\/a> for Research and Practice<\/p>\n

On Monday September 10th, we kicked off the Productive Sidewalks Summer School<\/a> at the NYhub. All participants (Students from the\u00a0KU Leuven, Departement of Architecture and Urban Design\/Planning) gathered to explore and research\u00a0the productive levels of Bryant Park\u00a0in the center of\u00a0New York City. After the\u00a0introduction and site visit we had our first input\u00a0session at the Bryant Park Corporation by Ignacio Ciocchini, Vice President of Design at both Bryant Park en 34th Street Partnership.\u00a0The participants were introduced to the +\/-\u00a08000 activities the park hosts a year\u00a0and the different businesses and concessions that are part of the Bryant\u00a0Park\u00a0management. With a gross\u00a0revenue of 16\u00a0million every year\u00a0and a\u00a012 million visitors a year, this park is a important showcase on how collective space is a productive space.<\/p>\n
