Ekin completed her thesis in the Master of Architecture under the supervision of Tomas Ooms.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucy.ac.cy\/arch\/hersus-prize-call-on-modern-heritage\/?lang=en\">HERSUS Prize on Modern Heritage<\/a>\u00a0is an initiative within the Erasmus+ project Enhancing of Heritage Awareness and Sustainability of Built Environment in Architectural and Urban Design \u2013 HERSUS, and co-funded by the European Commission. The Prize awards best practices in Europe on sustainability and cultural heritage in architectural and urban design. Specifically, it deals with the subject of Modern Heritage, defined by the UNESCO Modern Heritage Program as \u201cArchitecture, Town Planning and Landscape Design of the 19th and 20th Century.\u201d The main objective of this prize is to contribute to greater visibility and awareness regarding Modern Heritage by awarding projects and initiatives that approach Modern Heritage in innovative and sustainable ways.<\/p>\n<p>In this context, the jury awarded Ekin\u2019s thesis project and invited her to the ceremony and exhibition on the 11th of May, 2023.
