This research is about discovering and analyzing the hidden landscape, by walking through it. Entirely based on tracings, the landscape holds a new kind of architecture. While the first film makes use of the different layers of coexisting views, provided by the interfaces and the mirrors inside the machine cabin, the layers of information that were put in the final film consist out of the duality between ‘front of house’ and ‘back of house’. The models’ front of house is purely based on parts of the tracings and shows a certain kind of architectural expression. The back of house is the result of stabilizing the model and is purely functional, translating in a contrasting expression. By showing both parts, the film shows a certain nakedness, an honest form of architecture that is blunt, but also at the same time fragile.

Film 1 Film 2 https://evalouf.myportfolio.com/work https://evalouf.myportfolio.com/atlas 10 minute presentation: ‘Walking provides a different form of perception,’ (Thierry De Cordier).
