Next week, we welcome HouseEurope! to the sofa, a former European Citizens’ Initiative that is currently transitioning into a long-term non-profit organization. The initiative was launched in January 2025 with the aim of anchoring the right to reuse in European legislation and making renovations more economically attractive than demolition.
Rooted in earlier works by the station+ chair at ETH Zurich, HouseEurope! , in its own words, translates real-life experience into policy. As a policy lab, it connects insights from practice and research with the actors who shape the legal framework, developing concrete, evidence-based proposals grounded in local realities and best practices.
Campaign manager Josiane Schmidt and Felix Schröder, representative of HouseEurope! Brussels, will report on their experiences to date and give an outlook for the future.
