Architect Jef Van Ranst had a dream: to get young talents to draw again – focusing on the drawing made by hand, as an expression of a thinking, doing or design process, rather than the drawing as an artistic artefact.
The Jef Van Ranst Prize is exclusively for students of all Flemish architectural education institutions. The Prize is awarded to one bachelor’s and one master’s student from one of the chosen institutions.

KEYNOTE – MICHIEL RIEDIJK
Michiel Riedijk is director and co-founder of the Rotterdam-based architectural firm Neutelings Riedijk Architects, which designed, among other things, the MAS in Antwerp and Gare Maritime on the Tour & Taxis site in Brussels. Michiel Rijdijk is jury chairman of the Jef Van Ranst Prize 2024.

After his keynote, Michiel Riedijk will talk to Jean-Pierre Van Liefferinge, SVR-ARCHITECTS, Riet Eeckhout (drawing researcher KU Leuven), designer Ruben Castro (Faculty of Architecture) and Aleksandar Pilyov (alumnus Faculty of Architecture and winner of the Jef Van Ranst Prize 2023).
