Free lectures during summer school ‘Green Climate Axes in Ghent’

From Monday 27 August until Tuesday 4 September 2018, the City of Ghent, KU Leuven (Hans Leinfelder) and Hogeschool Gent organize an international summer school ‘Green Climate Axes in Ghent’. During nine days, students explore designerly challenges for a number of green climate axes in Ghent. This exploration involves multiple scales and various disciplines such as urbanism, green management, landscape architecture and ecology.

Three internationally renowned experts are invited for an inspiring lecture. The three lectures are for free and open to everyone who is interested.

Henrik Vejre

Multifunctional sustainable land use is the focus of Henrik Vejre’s research. The spatial integration of agriculture, natural habitats, water management and residential and recreational development is a starting point. Henrik Vejre is especially interested in the management of urban fringes and rural landscapes. He explains with a lot of passion how the famous ‘Finger Plan’ of Copenhagen has succeeded in creating societal support for a robuust, green urban structure.
