NL In het tussengebied rond de voormalige elektriciteitscentrale van Langerbrugge bouwen kunstenaars, zoekers en makers mee aan het traject van KONNEKTOR, een interdisciplinair en participatief project van Gouvernement en partners. KONNEKTOR gaat van start met zomerresidenties in 2020 en krijgt een publiek sluitstuk als een off-parcours van Lichtfestival Gent in de winter van 2021 (27 – 31 januari).
In eerste instantie zoekt KONNEKTOR kunstenaars die zich als verkenners, storytellers of antropologen opstellen. Jouw veldwerk in de omgeving is bepalend voor het verdere verloop van het traject. Je sprokkelt verhalen uit het verleden, engageert je als ‘konnektor’ in het heden en schept mogelijkheden voor een toekomst.
Deze open oproep richt zich ook tot makers met verschillende achtergronden die zich in hun creatieproces laten inspireren door de geschiedenis van de unieke modelgemeenschap rond de centrale en het eclectische landschap tussen stad, haven en achterland.

KONNEKTOR starts off with Summer residencies in 2020 and reaches a public highlight as an off-track of Light Festival Ghent in Winter 2021 (27 – 31 January).
KONNEKTOR calls upon artists who initially open up as explorers, storytellers or anthropologists. Your research in the surrounding area is essential for the process and outcome of the trajectory. As you gather stories from the past, you are engaged as a ‘konnektor/connector’ in the present and design possibilities for a future.
This open call is also addressed to makers from different backgrounds who let their creative process become inspired by the history of the self-contained community around the power station and the eclectic landscape between city, port and hinterland.
