Ruim vier jaar werkte de kunstenaar Koen Deprez (1961) aan een doctoraat. De probleemstelling was het oeuvre zelf. De titel: Apologie voor de vlucht, narratieve technieken uit het ontwerpoeuvre van Koen Deprez. Het doctoraat bestaat uit een boekpublicatie, een tentoonstelling en twee narratieve kaarten van het oeuvre. De presentatie van het boek is georganiseerd in het voorjaar van 2020 in het Arenbergkasteel van de Katholieke Universiteit van Leuven. De tentoonstelling en de presentatie van de oeuvrekaarten zijn gepland voor september 2019 in Galerie Zwart Huis te Knokke.

For more than four years, artist Koen Deprez (1961) worked on a PhD. The problem was the oeuvre itself. The title: Apology for the flight, narrative techniques from the design oeuvre of Koen Deprez. The PhD consists of a book publication, an exhibition and two narrative maps of the oeuvre. The presentation of the book was organized in the spring of 2020 in the Arenberg Castle of the Catholic University of Leuven. The exhibition and the presentation of the oeuvre cards are planned for September 2019 in Galerie Zwart Huis in Knokke.
